Custom Design Policy

Custom Design Fee

Custom design work requires a non-refundable design fee, starting at $45.

This fee covers:

  • One original custom design concept

  • Up to two (2) revision rounds based on the original request

Additional revisions beyond the included amount are billed at $15 per revision, or may require a new design fee depending on the scope of changes.

Translation: thoughtful tweaks are welcome, full redesigns are not free therapy sessions.

 

 

What Qualifies as “Custom”

Custom design includes, but is not limited to:

  • Fully original artwork created from scratch

  • Custom home illustrations or architectural recreations

  • Personalized text layouts beyond standard templates

  • Projects that are not currently offered in the shop

Minor personalization (names, dates, short phrases on existing designs) does not fall under full custom design and may be offered at a lower personalization fee when applicable.

 

 

Design Timeline & Turnaround

Custom design work begins after full payment (product total + design fee) is received.

  • Current turnaround for custom design proofs is 7–10 business days

  • Production turnaround begins after final design approval

  • Final product delivery timeframe will be confirmed once the design is approved

Turnaround times may vary based on seasonal demand, holidays, or active launches. Rush requests are not guaranteed and may incur an additional fee if available.

 

 

Proofs & Approval Process

  • Proofs are delivered digitally for review

  • Clients have 72 hours to submit revision requests or approval once a proof is sent

  • Delays in approval may impact overall production timing

Approval confirms that spelling, layout, and design details are correct. Once approved, the design moves into production and no further changes can be made.

 

 

Revisions & Scope Changes

Revisions must stay within the scope of the original design request.

The following are considered new designs and may require an additional design fee:

  • Changing the concept entirely

  • Switching styles after proofs are delivered

  • Adding new elements not originally discussed

  • Combining multiple inspiration sources into one redesign after approval

 

 

Refunds & Cancellations

  • Design fees are non-refundable once design work has begun

  • Custom products are final sale and not eligible for returns or exchanges

  • If a project is canceled after design approval, the full order total remains non-refundable

 

 

Creative Rights

October House Co. retains creative discretion over design style and execution. While client inspiration is welcomed, exact replicas of copyrighted artwork, logos, or trademarked designs cannot be created.
