12 Places That Would Make Incredible Custom Architecture Art

Take a moment and imagine all the places you've been in your life.

If I asked you to close your eyes, take a deep breath, and answer with the first thing that came to mind when I ask... "Where is your favorite place in the whole world?" What would you say?

Now what if I were to tweak that question just a bit... "Where is your favorite place you've ever visited?" I bet your answer would differ, huh?

I know mine does.

Our lives are full of places and people we love. Usually both coincide with one another - we love the places because of the people we have shared them with, not because it was located at 123 Alphabet St. But, sometimes we can't always return to those places or when we do they've changed because so many years have passed. The feelings we once knew, the nostalgia of the place we hold dear is gone. But what if we could hold on to it just a little bit longer? Remember it for the way we knew it, loved it, and wish we could return to?

That's one of the most beautiful things about architectural artwork, it's not just about pretty art or perfect symmetry (if that's what the building calls for) it's about preserving the details that tell part of our story, take us back to the moments we had, the people we had them with, and the love we shared.

Yes, there are beautiful homes, masterfully built buildings, and incredible escapes, but even in all that beauty, that's not what makes us remember places or hold deep meaningful attachments to them, it's the memories made in those places. It's the cousin that crooked shutter reminds us of, the Halloween parties hosted in the garage, the weekend getaways with all the aunts and uncles, grandma and grandpa, the house, the building, the architecture was merely the host of all those wonderful moments.

But, a funny thing happens when we see that home, that vacation rental, or that trailer come back to life... those memories come rushing back like no time has passed. The chills fill our body, head to toe, because it's like those people we lost so long ago are here with us again. The details that tell the stories are what make architectural artwork so personal and unique. They tell someone, "I know you. I get you. I love you." It's the collection of little things that truly make it your place.

That's why when I first started thinking about all the places that could become architectural artwork, I realized quickly... the possibilities were so much bigger than someone's current home.

There are so many places in my life that are meaningful and trust me, I don't live in or own all of them! 🤣 I'm sure you could say the same. And, that's why I believe these 12 places would make incredible custom architecture art.
