5 Meaningful Occasions for Custom Architecture Art Gifts

When it comes to gift giving, for me at least, I want it to be meaningful, special, and unique to the person receiving the gift. I would venture to say I'm a pretty good gift giver except when it comes to gifting to my husband 🤣 He's seriously so hard to buy for and trying to create a surprise for the person you live with and share a garage with isn't ideal... but he still loves me. We have a running joke I've succeeded at a good gift once in our marriage and that's enough (Christmas 2009). I will continue to try though, until I nail it again, he does continue to receive underwear and socks, because well he needs them and won't ever buy them! 🤭

In my opinion, gifts should speak to the person and tell a story about the love you share. As the gift giver, I think the gift should instantly say, "I know you." "I know what's important to you." "I know what you care about because I care about you." Sometimes, those type of gifts can be hard to find, especially when you're not looking for mass-produced, cookie cutter, cheap items.

That's not to say every holiday and special occasion someone needs to be splurging on top of the line, handcrafted goods. However, for those really special events or once-in-a-lifetime moments, I think it's important the gift tells the story and shows the receiver just how much they mean. But, oddly enough, being meaningful, unique, or special, doesn't require a high price tag. It simply requires taking the time to notice what matters and gifting from the heart.

Now, all that to say, these are my top 5 custom architecture artwork gift ideas!

1. The first home you shared together.

Imagine the moment they open the gift to reveal a beautifully crafted wooden architecture piece designed to honor every detail of that first home, down to the weathered posts or picture perfect front door. The way the colors reflect so accurately and the emotions flood back of what it was like 5, 10, 15, 20 years ago walking through those doors for the first time and beginning to build a life together. The magic that was shared, the ups and downs, the celebrations, and maybe even the heartaches. This house was more than just a house, it was a home and it's where the story of your life together began.

2. Your family legacy home.

Maybe this is a family lake house, maybe this is your grandparents' home where every cousin has lived at some point in time, or maybe it's the home you built as the first in your family to make such an achievement. Whatever family legacy means to you, custom wooden architecture art can be the gift that honors the legacy. Gifting it to your parents, your grandparents, or even yourself. Every legacy deserves to be turned into artwork, let this be yours.

3. The 5th wedding anniversary.

In traditional wedding anniversary gifting, wood is the gift of choice. Wood symbolizes strong, deep roots and an enduring relationship that has grown solid and tough in the first five years. Imagine surprising your spouse with a 5th wedding anniversary of wooden architecture to celebrate the symbolism and meaning tied to wood and marriage. It doesn't have to be a home you've owned but it could be, or it could be the Air BnB where you spent your honeymoon, maybe it's the Chapel where you said "I do", or maybe it's where you first fell in love... the quaint movie theater in town, the local diner, whatever is special to the two of you.

4. The realtor milestone gift.

So you have a realtor in the family, it could be your daughter or son, a brother or sister, or heck maybe they aren't technically family at all. Imagine surprising them with a custom wooden art piece of the [insert your number] house they sold! Maybe it's the first house they ever sold 20 years ago, maybe it's the 100th house they've sold, or maybe it's the sale that maybe them reach X dollars in sales and it's a moment to celebrate! What a unique way to say, "I'm proud of you. I've been watching. I support you. I love you!"

5. The just because it's cool holiday gift.

Maybe your person is hard to shop for too? Why not completely surprise them with something they never imagined? It could be your home, it could be a fantasy home, a pop-culture icon that they love, or a piece of their family history. I guarantee wooden architecture artwork is not what they're expecting and the WOW! moment is worth it. This is exactly what I did to my sister and her man, it's where I found my love for building architecture art. They didn't see it coming and it was magical watching them open it.

So, what would your top moment be for gifting wooden architecture art? Let me know!
